Grass Root Development Project

No Poverty

Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University operates across two provinces: Kamphaeng Phet and Tak. Majority of the population are classified into the low-income and low educated group with a very low percentage of the population earning higher income than the poverty category and having finished first degree. There are families that are in a fragile condition as they are unsecure in terms of employment and finance. Additionally, these communities are located in remote areas with limited access to public services.

To fight against poverty, the university has, for several years, initiated anti-poverty and income boosting projects to improve the quality of life and increase income for these grassroot communities. The projects have been focusing on providing essential knowledge and skills that the people in the area need for a better quality of life. It also supports access to capital sources and educational opportunities to help these communities achieve long-term self-sustainability. The several activities under the project include developing a Natural and Cultural tourist route to attract more tourists into the area, training on food and agricultural product processing, designing packaging, and establishing marketing channels, along with other vocational promotion activities. In 2020, around 100 families participated in the project, achieving an average income increase of 10%. From 2021 to 2023, the number of participating families grew to 294 in 2021, 224 in 2022, and 744 in 2023, with each year seeing an average income increase of 20%, 30%, and 80%, respectively. This demonstrates the project's success in making a positive impact on the quality of life.
