Teachers and the Border Patrol Police School Development
On January 21-22, 2022, the Faculty of Education organized a practical training activity to assist teachers and schools in the border patrol police area. This activity was part of a project supported by the Education Equality Fund. The event took place in the research and development units of two schools which are Ban Letongkhu Border Patrol Police School and Chaloem Phra Kiat 7th Cycle Anniversary School (Ban Mong Kwa). Both schools are located in Umphang District, Tak.
There were 35 participants attended the event, including professors, researchers, and staff from Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University, together with teachers and administrators from the two schools. Additionally, there were representatives from collaborating schools, including Baan Kaloatoh School and Tha Nang Phu Hai Wilaikul School (Baan Peng Khe Ling), as well as a Border Patrol Police Officer from the 34th Border Patrol Police Unit.
The event received support for the venue from Umphangvittayakom School in Umphang District, Tak Province. Stringent measures were taken in accordance with the Covid-19 pandemic situation, including conducting Covid-19 testing (using ATK kits) for all participants before the start of the training. These procedures were supported and facilitated by the Public Health Department in Umphang District, Tak.
The activity included practical training sessions on teacher development in areas such as teacher characteristics, learning management, community relations, and content. These sessions were conducted by experts in media production, grassroots learning management, and Thai language skills development from the Faculty of Education, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University.
After the training, the teachers implemented the innovations in their classrooms to enhance the Thai language skills of their students. Follow-up guidance, instructional supervision, and PLC (Professional Learning Community) activities will be conducted in February to March 2022. The results of these efforts will be presented at regional and national-level learning exchange conferences in the following stages.
